TouchScreen not working in Windows 11/10

Since your Touch device is not working or will not calibrate, if your Windows device does not have a keyboard, you may need to use the Arrow Up / Down keys to navigate and the Tab button to move the focus and highlight the options and Space-bar to mark or clear the checkboxes and Enter to select the option. Try our following suggestions: Let us see them in detail.

1] Physically check the laptop touchscreen

If the glass on your laptop touchscreen is cracked or broken, the touchscreen may not work.. If it looks a bit dirty, take a soft cloth dampened with water or eyeglass cleaner and wipe the slate clean. If this doesn’t work, try the following solution.

2] Restart Surface or your Windows device

Restart your Windows device. Simply press the Windows logo key + I to open Settings. Click Power > Restart. If this too fails, try the Two-button restart. The Two-button restart is for Surface Pro devices only. Don’t use this process on Surface RT or Surface 2.

3] Disable & re-enable Touch

Open Devices Manager > Human Interface Device > HID-compliant Touch Screen (Your touch device). Right-click on it and select Disable.

Wait for a few minutes and then again right-click and select Enable. Disabling Touch and then re-enabling it is known to help many.

4] Install the latest Windows Updates & Firmware

Make sure that you have the latest Windows Updates, Firmware and Drivers installed. You can do so via Control Panel > Windows Update. You may need to restart your Windows device after the updates have been installed. If you are using a Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus or any other laptop, and your touch screen is not working; you may need to visit the respective manufacturer’s website for the latest device drivers and see if they issued a fix for it.

5] Update HID-compliant Touch Screen driver

From the WinX Menu, open Devices Manager > Human Interface Device > HID-compliant Touch Screen (Your touch device). Right-click on it and select Update to update this driver.

6] Run the Windows built-in Digitiser Calibration Tool

Try the Windows built-in Digitiser Calibration Tool. Open Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Tablet PC Settings > Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input. Press the Rest button. If the Reset button is grayed out, it means that your settings are at factory defaults.

If need be, calibrate your Touch & Pen Settings and see if it works for you.

7] Run System Restore or Refresh your PC.

If nothing works, try a System Restore, Refresh or Reset PC on your device and see if it helps you. Let us know if you have any other ideas. This post will help you if Keyboard or Mouse is not working.
